Micro and Wire Trenchers

Micro and wire Trenchers can be defined as small rockweel trenchers, which are used specially in dense urban locations. These trenchers use narrow blades to make smaller trenches than you could make with chain-blade or wheel trenchers.

Wire trenchers typically include a wire-feed device that automatically installs a wire in the trench, simplifying the process of installing invisible fencing and other underground wiring. There are also types of manual wire trenchers available in market, which allow us to create even narrower trenches if required.

On the other hand, Micro trenchers do not install wire and cut a slightly wider trench than a wire trencher. These are fitted with a cutting wheel that cuts a micro trench of relatively smaller dimensions than what could be achieved using chain or rock wheel trenchers.

The width of trenches that can be achieved using Microtrenchers ranges from 1.2 to 5.1 incheswith a depth of 20 inches or less. The structure of the road can be maintained using a Micro trencher without causing any damages to existing pavements. Micro Trenchers are very popular trenchers in urban areas as they minimize traffic or pedestrian disturbance during network laying. They may also be used to install Fiber to the X (FTTX) connections. A micro trencher is capable of working on sidewalks or in narrow streets of cities, and can cut harder ground than a chain trencher, including cutting through solid stone. Micro trenchers are commonly used to cut existing pavements for the purpose of road maintenance in urban areas.
